Been working on these....

Hi there! Enjoying this hot and HUMID weather? I'm just thankful it's summer! I do so enjoy the heat though.

Here's what I've been up to, as far as handmade items...these pictures are either projects of my Stamp/Scrap Class or items I've designed for my Etsy Shoppe which you can find here. Tell me what you think and thanks for spending some of your time with me!!
I so love the vintage trimmings and tatting I found for this one:

What great reminders of our God's greatness:

The cardfront is a "beeswax" technique. Love, again, the vintage cloth and lace at the corner of this card:

Birdhouses assembled using a "Beeswax" technique:

Love this Proverb, "Be careful how you think, your life is shaped by your thoughts." This is the Good News Bible version of Proverbs 4:23. Don't you just love it?

Swirlies and Brayering

Hello! I'm believing you're having a wonderful day today!

I've been having fun practicing my brayering skills...and I think that I need to continue practicing. lol! I love sponging and brayering backgrounds because when I was first introduced to rubberstamping by my sister, brayering was the first thing she taught me...and I loved it! Anyhow, I really haven't practiced that technique in a while so here's the fruit of my labor, so to speak. I used the "Swirlies", "Inspirational Saying" and "Soul Kisses" stamp sets for these cardfront samples:

Yes, I glittered (Prisma Glitter) my label-shaped cardstock first and then when it was dried I stamped on it...pretty neat, huh? It looks a lot better IRL.

Thanks again for dropping by to visit!

What to do with these Arrows?

Reminder, don't forget to order your July SOTM (stamp of the month) set. I was honored for the previlege to design this month. I have to admit that at first I was really challenged...what am I gonna do with all these ARROWS? But once I got "peaceful" in my brain, I had lotsa fun designing. Here's what I came up with: a picture frame, a flower stem, a mini purse and matching booklet, baby giraffe card, clock hands, simple scrapbook page, an inspirational mini book, bracelet and bracelet and necklace set! So you see you'll find that this stamp set is SOOOOOOOOOO versatile! Take a look for yourself:

Well, your turn to show me what you've done with your Elegant Arrows stamp set!
Thanks so much for visiting!

God Bless the USA!

Hello! May you enjoy your 4th of July weekend being thankful to God for all the freedoms we still have and are blessed with in our great United States of America! I painted this "patriotic drum" years ago...when I used to do tole painting. The "stars paint can" on the right I did a few minutes before guests arrived (hehe!) for our memorial day cookout. Thanks Cathy D. for the star stamp you gave me. Love it! Again, Happy 4th of July to all!

Combining Vintage Trimmings & Stamping

I have been trying to get to my vintage "stash" and use these vintage goodies...lace & crocheted trimmings that I got from my wonderful friend, Sandy. I did finally get around to it. And how delightfully well these vintage items go with rubber stamping, or at least I think so.. hehe! I used the "No Place Like Home" and "Swirlies" stamp sets. Tell me what you think....nothing fancy here but I certainly had lotsa fun playing with these:

Thank you for visiting my blog...appreciate it!

Dots, dots, dots!

"Dots" is the theme for this card...can you tell? lol! The dotted flower pot was my inspiration for this theme. So first I went and dry-embossed the brown cardstock using the cuttlebug swiss dot folder. Then I freehanded some pink dots on the white background cs with my pink marker.

Here's a close up of the pink dots:

I used the "Garden Joy" stamp set. Stamped them, colored them in and then cut them out. I used a teenie pop dot on the top of the flower and on the birdie for 3-d effect. TIP: Use different "portions" of a rubber stamp for greater stamp usage. Notice how I stamped the flower portion of the potted plant on the bottom and top of the white cs to tie it all together. I used a scripture verse from "Inspirational Sayings" for the focal point of my card.

Thanks again for visiting my blog. May God bless you with sweet sleep tonite!

This is what summer is about

....appreciating the beauty that surrounds me...all this beauty compliments of my Heavenly Father! The details in each individual plant is incredible, right? I am totally in awe of such floral beauty that was placed before MY eyes!! Especially the second to the last picture...you have to take a closer look at this one. (Click on the picture for larger view.) The picture is of a white lily but as you take a close look at the inside of the flower it looks as if it is lined in swiss dots...you know like on ribbon or fabric! How awesome is that? I love it!! Reminds me of the verse in 1 Chronicles 16:9 "Sing to Him, sing praises to Him; meditate on and talk of all His wondrous works and devoutly praise them!" And also Proverbs 90:17 "And let the beauty of the LORD our God be upon us" comes to mind.

Thanks for sharing your time with me... believing you have an incredibly blessed day!
